What is Pilates?

Pilates is a mind-body conditioning exercise programme. It combines awareness of the deep postural and spinal muscles, with breathing, to increase overall central core stability and posture. When performed regularly Pilates positively changes the body.

 

Classes

The classes are led a Chartered Physiotherapists who has also undergone extensive training and examinations in the rationale of the Pilates philosophy. Classes are limited to 12 people,  so group members can get specialized attention.

 

Who Is it For?

• People of all ages and levels of fitness. • People seeking to optimize their health, wellbeing and relaxation. • People with back pain & muscle & joint pains • People with poor posture • People with balance problems • Arthritis • Stress related illnesses. • Sporting populations - Modified Pilates has been used extensively by the Premiership football teams and English National Ballet. • Pregnant women and post-natally • Men as well as women!
