Shirley Baptist Church is committed not only to the pastoral care of the members and congregation but also to all those with whom we are in contact. Pastoral care is the responsibility of senior minister, Rev Martin Smith. He works together with the Pastoral Visiting Team, the Counselling Team and the Prayer Ministry Team.
The Pastoral Visiting Team, led by Jill Playdon, ensures that a member of the church regularly visits those who are housebound, those who need encouragement, and those who are recuperating.
The Counselling Team has the responsibility of helping those who need a deeper level of pastoral care. Referrals are made through the minister.
The Prayer Ministry Team is available on Sunday mornings following the service and anyone who needs prayer, for any purpose is encouraged to come to the front of the church after worship, where a member of the team will be happy to pray with them.
If you have a prayer request that you would like mentioned during the worship, you are invited to use the prayer request board in the entrance prior to the start of the service.

We believe that when we pray, God listens, and answers. We may not always get the answer we’re looking for, but we believe praying makes a difference to peoples lives. If you would like us to pray for you, then let us know using the form below.
