Day 2 on 21 Days of Prayer

Video Transcript

Here on Day 2 of our 21 Days of Prayer we are praying for community amongst us here at Shirley Baptist.

In the early days of the church in the book of Acts, believers gathered from all over the place, using what they had to meet each other’s needs.

As a community, they worshipped and shared meals together. God gave us a deep longing for relationship and community. We need other believers to share life with and to encourage each other.  When we find community, we discover a place where we can be authentic and honest.

It is a place where we can read God’s Word, pray for each other, and celebrate life’s moments together. So pray for our worship times together on a Sunday morning. That God will bless us and continue to bond us together as one family. Give thanks to Him for the friends at Shirley who encourage, challenge and above all, love you.

Pray for Community

Read Acts 2:42-47

They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the and many wonders and signs performed by the apostles.  All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favour of all the people.  And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.
