Day 3 on 21 Days of Prayer

Video Transcript

Welcome to Day 3 of our 21 Days of Prayer. Today we have the pleasure of praying for the sick and in need of healing.

In our reading today, Peter and John called on the name of Jesus to heal a man who had been unable to walk since birth. In the second section, they used this event as an opportunity to share the good news about Jesus with the people who had seen what happened. There are times when we might find ourselves needing a miracle of our own, and hoping that someone would call upon Jesus for us. This type of prayer is called intercession, and it is simply the act of praying on behalf of others.
Whether we know it or not, we have all been the recipient of this type of prayer, and you probably have prayed more than a few of these for others. There is power when we pray for others, as it gives us the opportunity to think outside our own needs and petition God on behalf of someone else.

We should likewise have the faith to call on the name of Jesus for the miraculous and the courage to make use of every opportunity to tell others about the hope that Jesus offers. So give thanks for the work of Sheila and the pastoral team and please pray for those who are known to you who are in need at this time.

Pray for the sick and in need of healing.

Read Acts 3:1-26

By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know was made strong. It is Jesus’ name and the faith that comes through him that has completely healed him, as you can all see.

Acts 3:16 NIV
