Day 9 on 21 Days of Prayer

Video Transcript

Welcome to Day 9 of our 21 days of prayer. Today we find ourselves reading through Acts chapter 12. And in this chapter, Peter finds himself in prison. I just want to quote a little bit from verse 6………… “ Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains, and sentries stood guard at the entrance.”

He was in an impossible situation, and some of you might be in an impossible situation today…but take heart because with Peter , God made a way…verse 7.. “Suddenly an angel of the Lord appeared and a light shone in the cell”

In the western world we often regard stories like Peter’s miraculous release from prison or Herod’s spectacular death as either fairy tales or products of a time when God worked supernaturally–something we assume He no longer does.

The truth is that to truly believe God became a man named Jesus who walked among us, died, and then came back to life requires far more faith in the supernatural than believing God can heal someone who is sick or set someone free from jail.

To deny the miracles we read about in the Bible as too fantastic to be true or to think that God couldn’t possibly perform a miracle in the modern world while at the same time committing one’s life to following Jesus, well… that’s simply illogical.  If God can come as a man, die, and come back to life, certainly he can act supernaturally in the world today. We all doubt at times, but the Bible teaches us to ask for more faith when we doubt.

Pray for a miracle
