Shaun’s Christmas Letter

Dear Members and Friends,

It is THAT TIME OF YEAR again, and I am writing to say that Kathie and I are praying God’s richest blessings on you as we celebrate together the birth of our dear Saviour. We look forward to sharing with you all the different joys and challenges that doubtless another New Year will bring.

As the year 2020 rapidly approaches, we want our vision in the Lord and for the Lord to be as clear and as focussed as the year itself suggests. Which is why in continuing to SERVE OUR SHIRLEY we want SEEING OUR SAVIOUR to be front and centre. In order to share this 2020 Vision carefully and prayerfully, we are setting aside January 18th and 19th next year as our church prayer, fayre and vision weekend and would ask you please to book these dates in your diaries.

The Saturday will start at 9am for prayer when everyone is encouraged to visit the church even for just 15 minutes to pray into the life of the fellowship and community. This will conclude at 3pm when our church fayre will commence. This is an opportunity for any regular group or meeting in the church to display who their group is, what their group does and what their group most needs. The leaders of these groups will need to be active and creative in making sure that their group is well presented and represented on the day. Please ask me for help if you need it. The fayre will finish about 4pm with a refreshment break followed at 4:30pm by a time of Worship and a short message from God’s Word before we all go home.

The Sunday morning service on the 19th January will provide the scope to speak more into this 20/20 Vision of SEEING OUR SAVIOUR and will also be a GIFT DAY to help to make this vision a reality.

I know that we have much to do and many invites to events we can’t afford to miss, but I do ask that each of us would book this time out in our diaries. Please plan to come, to give and get involved so the ministry and outreach of Shirley Baptist Church can push forward in the days ahead.

It is our prayer and hope that you will all know God’s peace and enjoy His presence this coming Christmas and New Year.

God bless you richly.

Your friend and pastor.
